1. Use the right type of cloth
To avoid stainless steel scratching choose a non abrasive cloth, a microfiber cloth is recommended. If you are unable to find one then a very soft cloth or a paper towel will work.
2. Notice the direction of the grain
Like wood, stainless steel has a grain, and when cleaning, it is important to wipe in its direction to avoid scratching. It may be difficult to notice at first but look closely the grain can be horizontal.
3. Choose cleaning method
You can clean stainless steel a few different ways:
Vinegar and water solution
Mix 2 parts vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle, spray your stainless steel product and wipe in the direction of the grain.
Follow by applying a little your preferred vegetable oil with a cloth to give it a great shine. Remember always go in the direction of the grain.
